EXTERIOR HOUSE PAINTING

A quality exterior paint project is not a one-step process. We know that the foundation to a beautiful, long-lasting finish starts with proper prep work. This includes closely examining each substrate to identify areas that need to be patched or repaired prior to painting. We will bring these areas to your attention as well as a plan to address in our detailed proposal.
Step 1 – Protect
Painting can be a messy process. We go to extreme measures to protect your home from unnecessary damage. We do our best to protect your landscaping from paint and plant damage. We may ask that you have trees or shrubs trimmed back prior to help protect them as well as the finish. We keep the area around your home clean and organized throughout the entire process.
Step 2 – Clean
Pressure washing is a key step in our paint and stain preparation process. However, pressure washing can create issues if not done properly. Our team of professionals know exactly what size tips and pressure to use to clean the surface, not blast paint off or inject a massive amount of moisture into the wood, which can take weeks to dry out. Too much moisture in the substrate will cause the paint or stain not to adhere. If the pressure is too high, it could even damage older wood by making it fuzzy which also impedes paint adhesion. Whether we are preparing the surface to be painted or stained, or just doing a routine cleaning to remove unsightly grime, pressure washing done correctly by our team at Eagle Eye Exteriors will leave your surface squeaky clean.
Step 3 – Scrape, Sand, Caulk
In addition to scraping and sanding any peeling paint, we always remove all loose or failing caulking and reapply with an elastomeric sealant. This is a higher quality than standard caulk as it has more flexibility for joint movement. This will help weatherproof and seal your home to prevent moisture intrusion.
Step 4 – Prime and Paint
We prime any new or bare areas prior to applying 2 coats of a premium finish. This can be sprayed, brushed, or rolled depending on the type of substrate and access. We only use the highest quality exterior paints and stains, which is your homes first layer of defense against the elements.
